Welcome to the Targeting Archery Club website.
The club was born out of our parent company, Targeting Archery which was established in 2015 by Karen Dales. That business was based around Karen's experienced archery coaching, where she runs regular beginners' Courses and "Come and shoot sessions". However, people that completed the course or who came to the sessions, wanted an actual archery club locally to join. So in 2017 Karen registered a new archery club with Archery GB in the local area which is the Targeting Archery Club who's website you are visiting now.
The club uses the same outdoor venue as the original business and has a range where we can shoot up to 60yds for a normal club shoot. We also have have Archery GB approval (August 2017) to shoot up to 100yds/90M by following Archery GB guidence on setting up the range for these distances too, when needed. This is a lovely venue at the back of St. Philip's Church overlooking open farmland.
As of October 2020 we use the main hall of St. Luke's Community Centre, Swarcliffe in Leeds. This hall is both longer and wider than the Church hall at St. Philip's that we used to use, which expands our indoor archery experience. However we occasionally still use the Church Hall at St. Philip's for small events where that size of hall works well.
During the summer months we shoot outdoors (wether permitting) at St. Philip's from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
During the winter months the club shoots indoors on Thursday evenings at St. Luke's from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
All year round we shoot outdoors on Saturday mornings at St. Philip's from 9:30am to 12:30pm, weather permitting.
For information about Archery Courses run by Targeting Archery, please refer to this web page.
The club is run by various members and non-members who freely give up their time to keep the club sessions, various school, charity and other events we attend, running as smoothly as possible.
Please contact the club if you need to speak to a someone and we will put you in contact with the correct person for your enquiry.
